| These historical fictions trace the challenges one daughter of poor Italian immigrants to Canada faced beginning in elementary school, aspiring to a high school education and beyond to adult life. “I hope that many of today’s immigrants to Canada will relate to this story as they recall and insert experiences of their own unique struggles to create a better life and achieve some of their goals.” “My proud Canadian heritage helps me to connect to Canadian-born readers who will hopefully look back to this small piece of their country’s history as their beginning, appreciate more clearly who they are and move courageously and hopefully to an informed better future.” |
